Water Bill Roundup supports our schools

graphic-waterbillroundupThose of you who have been in the Carrollton area for quite a while may remember when the City of Carrollton’s Water Department rounded up water bills with proceeds supporting the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation.

Well, It’s back! Here is a link to the city’s press release about the program to familiarize the rest of you about how this generous community effort benefits our schools. Note that this program is for City of Carrollton water customers only; other county water service areas are not participating.

As the press release states, “this program’s model is based on volume of contributors, not large contributions. Even If someone’s water bill ended in .01 every month, the most a family will pay would be $11.88 per year! But, when you add together the supporting water customers throughout the city, you can imagine what kind of impact could be made to benefit our children.”

Carrollton City Schools Supt. Dr. Mark Albertus encourages city water customers to consider participating in this program, especially since it shouldn’t present an undue burden on most families.

“We are grateful to the city for resurrecting this program,” said Dr. Albertus. “Over time, and as participation increases, Water Bill Roundup has the potential to really make a difference for us.”

It is very easy to sign up through this link. Thank you in advance for supporting Carrollton City Schools!
